Data Deletion

You have the right to completely delete your data from Download.ru at any time.
1. What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is removed:
- Account — email, name, profile, password (hash), preferences.
- All files — including contents, previews, and metadata. Files are permanently removed from object storage (OpenStack Swift).
- Folders — entire folder structure and sharing settings.
- OAuth connections — links to Google, VK, Yandex, Facebook, X, WebMoney.
- Tokens and keys — OAuth access/refresh tokens, API keys.
- Activity log — complete file operation history.
2. Encrypted Files (E2E)
Encrypted files are deleted the same way as regular files. Since the encryption key is stored only by you, the contents of these files were never accessible to the server at any point.
3. Anonymous User Files
If you uploaded files without registering, they are automatically deleted after 7 days. No early deletion request is needed.
4. How to Delete Your Data
Option 1: Self-Service
Delete your account in profile settings. All data will be deleted automatically.
Option 2: By Request
Send an email to support@download.ru with the subject "Data Deletion" from the email address associated with your account. We will confirm receipt and process the deletion.
5. Timeline

6. Data That May Be Retained
In certain cases, we may retain a minimal set of data:
- Payment records — if you had a paid subscription, transaction records are retained for accounting purposes (no card data).
- Investigation data — if the account was used in violation of the Terms of Service, we may retain records to prevent repeat violations.
7. Irreversibility
Data deletion is irreversible. After deletion, it is impossible to restore your account, files, or history. Make sure you have downloaded all necessary files before deleting your account.
